Regular NRA-ILA Updates Are Available - Do You Know Where To Sign Up?

So I am listening to a TED talk and I hear about a person creating a program that connects their followers with an automatic email to contact legislators and other people who affect laws.  I immediately reached out to the NRA's Public Relations director (Billy McLaughlin) and asked if we could get a program like that. He informed me quickly that the NRA already has a program like that, it sends out alerts to members affected by the proposed legislation and connects them to their legislators based on zip code.  

I was more than a little surprised we already had the capability. Billy let me know that ILA (our legal group) operates it and a member can sign up via text or email for alerts.  Once you receive that alert you can then put in your Zip code and it will direct your message to the legislators you are a constituent for.  One of the biggest issues the NRA has is that the public has very little awareness of what the NRA does or what their capabilities are.  You can sign up for ILA NRA alerts regarding legislation at NRA-ILA | Get Email Updates (nraila.org) or you can receive texts by texting "25017".  

While you are at the site you can see the grades that various politicians get on their Second Amendment scores, you can search gun laws by state, read about Armed Citizens using the Second Amendment for safety of themselves and others, and find out how you can take Grassroots action.  I hope you will take the time to sign up for these alerts and strengthen the voice of the Second Amendment.
